Dragon Boaters don’t just paddle

Several elite paddlers began their Dragon Boating careers with PDBC achieving success with the Australian State and National teams (Auroras) competing at World Championships.

Dragon Boaters don’t just paddle; there are pathways to elite competitions, gaining accreditation as a Coach, and as a Sweep (Helmsman)  as well becoming Regatta Officials.

Not all events are full on racing, Pinnacles have participated in the

  • Ord River Marathon, 52km from the Argyle Dam to Kununurra

  • The 40 + km on the Derwent's 4 Bridges Paddle  and a leisurely paddle of 30 +km on the Huon River in Tasmania.

We belong to the Western Region Dragon Boat Club area and along with eleven other clubs who train on the rivers, lakes and dams of Inland NSW. We meet in a spirit of friendship and happy rivalry and work together each year to take turns in hosting a Regatta.
